Who Are High Alpine Genetics? High Alpine Genetics stands as a beacon of excellence in the hemp breeding world, originating from the rugged, pristine mountains of Colorado, USA. Founded by the visionary Thomas Swanson, this family-run enterprise has carved out a reputation as a leader in producing high-quality, high-CBD, low-THC hemp strains. Established with a commitment to organic cultivation and innovative breeding techniques, High Alpine Genetics leverages the Rocky Mountains’ nutrient-rich soils and unique climate to craft feminised hemp seeds sought by growers and CBD enthusiasts alike. Their mission is clear: to deliver therapeutic-grade hemp with rich cannabinoid and terpene profiles, all while adhering to strict legal THC limits below 0.3%.

The company’s dedication to quality begins with its organic growing practices, ensuring that each strain is free from synthetic pesticides and grown with the utmost care.

CBD Flower Genetics

High Alpine Genetics specialises in Type 3 CBD strains, designed to offer benefits like stress relief, focus, and mood enhancement without the psychoactive high associated with THC. Their creative strain names often inspired by desserts and fruits, such as Rainbow Sherbet, Pineapple Sugar Cookies, Orange Glaze, Yak Butter, Lemon Fritter, and Apple Sauce reflect a unique sensory appeal that sets them apart. These strains are celebrated for their frosty, trichome-laden buds, potent CBD content, and diverse terpene profiles, ranging from tropical pineapple to zesty citrus and creamy richness.

High Alpine Genetics’ innovative breeding process is key to their global acclaim. By focusing on consistency and potency, they’ve developed strains that balance energising and relaxing effects, making them ideal for daytime use. Their reputation has grown through a commitment to excellence, with their seeds distributed to growers and retailers worldwide, including us in the UK, who are cultivating these premium genetics for the local market. This Colorado-based breeder continues to shape the future of hemp cultivation, blending tradition with cutting-edge techniques.

The Appeal of High Alpine Genetics Strains

The allure of High Alpine Genetics lies in their meticulous approach to breeding and cultivation. Their organic, mountain-grown hemp produces visually stunning buds, often displaying vibrant green and purple hues covered in milky trichomes. This frosty appearance signals high potency, a trait that CBD users and growers prize. The terpene profiles are a standout feature, offering flavours like the sweet pineapple of Pineapple Sugar Cookies, the citrusy zest of Lemon Fritter, and the creamy skunkiness of Yak Butter. These sensory experiences and high CBD levels make their strains highly desirable, especially as the UK market increasingly chases the quality of USA-sourced genetics.

Another draw is the therapeutic potential of these strains. High Alpine’s focus on low-THC, high-CBD varieties ensures a non-psychoactive experience, appealing to those seeking relief without the high. Strains like Orange Glaze and Apple Sauce are particularly popular for their balanced effects, providing an uplifting buzz that enhances productivity while offering subtle relaxation. This versatility has fueled their demand, positioning High Alpine Genetics as a trusted name in the CBD industry.

A Collaboration with Flow Gardens

High Alpine Genetics has forged a valuable partnership with Flow Gardens, a respected hemp grower known for its award-winning genetics. This collaboration has resulted in innovative strains that blend the strengths of both entities. Examples include Banana OG, a 50/50 hybrid cross of Flow Gardens’ Banana MAC and High Alpine’s Legendary OG, offering a citrus spice flavour and calming effects with 24% total cannabinoids. Another collaboration, Flows Cookies, combines Flow Gardens’ FLOW strain (Blueberry Muffin x Hopefully Hemp) with High Alpine’s Legendary OG, delivering a dense Type II flower with over 25% cannabinoids and an energising profile. Flow Gardens also contributes by phenohunting for High Alpine, selecting high-performing phenotypes to enhance strain quality. While a smaller part of High Alpine’s story, this partnership underscores their collaborative approach to innovation.
